Dr. Lauwers received his MD from the University of Paris, France. He completed a Surgical Pathology Residency at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, NY and a Fellowship in Oncologic Pathology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he also served as Chief Fellow. Following his Fellowship, Dr. Lauwers was in the Division of Anatomic Pathology, Department of Pathology at the University of Florida. From 2000 to 2016, Dr. Lauwers was in the Department of Pathology at Harvard Medical School and also served as Director, Gastrointestinal Pathology Service and Vice Chair, Department of Pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

He most recently has been a Professor in the Department of Pathology at the University of California San Francisco. He is currently adjunct Professor of Pathology at Pusan National University, School of Medicine, Pusan, Korea and Clinical Professor at the School of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, at the University of Western Australia, in Perth. Dr. Lauwers has published over 350 peer-reviewed articles, editorials, reviews, and book chapters, and is coauthor of several textbooks, including the 5th edition of Morson and Dawson's Gastrointestinal Pathology and Advances in Surgical Pathology: Gastric Cancer.

Dr. Lauwers serves on the editorial boards of several journals, he is Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and he contributed to the WHO Classification of Tumours of the Digestive System (2010). Dr. Lauwers’ areas of clinical focus include luminal malignancies of the gut (particularly esophageal and gastric adenocarcinoma) and hepatocellular carcinoma.

Dr. Ashraf Khan is an accomplished medical professional specializing in pathology. He currently serves as the Chair of Pathology at the University of Massachusetts Medical School-Baystate and Baystate Health in Springfield, MA. With extensive education and training, Dr. Khan holds an M.D. degree in Pathology from JN Medical College, Aligarh University in India, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology.

Dr. Mahmut Akgul, MD, is an accomplished medical professional specializing in genitourinary pathology. He currently serves as the Division Chief of Genitourinary Pathology at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY, where he oversees and leads the division. Dr. Akgul is also actively involved as a Urologic Pathologist.

Dr. Najarian completed his Fellowship in Gastrointestinal and Liver Pathology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in 2010. Dr. Jason Wasserman is a distinguished pathologist and educator currently serving as a Head and Neck Pathologist at The Ottawa Hospital. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, University of Ottawa, and a Clinician Investigator with the Cancer Therapeutics Program at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.  Dr. Wasserman completed his residency in Anatomical Pathology at the University of Ottawa where he served as the program's Chief Resident. Dr Abi Daoud completed her Fellowship in dermatopathology at the University of Toronto and University Health Network, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

His clinical practice covers medical, transplant and oncologic diseases of the liver, with more than 15 years' experience as a hepatobiliary pathology sub-specialist. His primary research interest is in transplant and tumor immunology. During his career he has combined an active clinical service with research and teaching as well as participating locally, nationally, and internationally as a key resource in medical, transplantation and oncologic liver diseases.

Dr Adeyi's research has focused on the interplay between the immune system on the one hand and allogeneic, tumor and viral antigens on the other. In collaboration he has used murine and pig models to study varying aspects of alloimmunity, infections, and tumorigenesis in modified immunologic backgrounds, with a view to understanding how best to utilize the innate and specific immune systems in achieving better outcomes in solid organ transplantation and malignancies, as well as viral infections and organ preservation injury.

Dr. Ahmed then completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago, followed by hematopathology fellowship at Yale and dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. 

Following training, Dr. Ahmed started his career as an assistant professor at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, gaining independent sign-out experience in inpatient, outpatient and consult cases in dermatopathology and hematopathology. Dr. Ahmed currently serves as director of the dermatopathology section at the Illinois Dermatology Institute while holding an adjunct appointment in the department of pathology and laboratory medicine at Loyola Stritch School of Medicine where he continues to be involved in education and research activities. 

In addition to his passion for routine dermatopathology, his background in hematopathology gives him additional diagnostic expertise in skin lymphomas. Dr. Ahmed is well-published, has won several national awards, and sits on multiple committees of the College of American Pathologists and the American Society of Dermatopathology.

Holding qualifications including MUDr and FRCPath, Dr. Al-Qsous's research delves into melanocytic lesions, skin lymphomas, and haematological malignancies. Notable publications include studies on diagnostic pitfalls in leukaemia, COVID-19 immunopathology, and desmoplastic stromal changes in tumours. His expertise and dedication to advancing pathology contribute significantly to medical knowledge and patient care. Dr. Al-Qsous's comprehensive understanding of complex diseases and his commitment to excellence in diagnosis and research make him a respected figure in the field, admired for his insightful contributions to histopathology.
