Dr. Muhammad Babar Aslam, MBBS, FRCPATH; a consultant pathologist and clinical director in North Wales diagnostic and specialist clinical services
Dr. Aslam received his MBBS in Pakistan 1995, and was interested in pathology from the beginning of his medical career. After gaining experience in various pathology disciplines in Pakistan for 5 years, Dr. Aslam entered into higher specialist training to achieve his FRCPATH certification in UK. He joined East Lancashire NHS as a consultant in 2006, where he was actively involved in various management roles. Dr. Aslam joined North Wales NHS 2015 to lead the surgical pathology and digital pathology implementation project. Currently Dr. Aslam is working as a clinical director for North Wales diagnostic and specialist clinical services including radiology, pathology, audiology, medical physics and neurophysiology.
Dr. Aslam’s key interests include service improvement, teaching, innovation and management and teaching. Among clinical activities he had special interest in head and neck, skin, urology, and upper and lower GI pathology including reporting ESDs. He also performs autopsies for the HM Coroners and consent autopsies for hospital. He is also interested in non-gynaecological cytology and routinely report them.
