Dr. Jason Karamchandani, an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, Neurology and Neuroscience at McGill University is a practicing neuropathologist at The Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital.
Dr. Jason Karamchandani, an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, Neurology and Neuroscience at McGill University is a practicing neuropathologist at The Montreal Neurological Institute and Hospital. A graduate of Harvard University with an honours degree in biochemistry, he proceeded to complete medical school training at Stanford University, where he was class valedictorian. He remained at Stanford for residency and fellowship training in anatomic pathology and neuropathology (he is board certified in both). Dr. Karamchandani's research focuses on utilizing bio-informatic data to identify biomarkers for brain tumors as well neuromuscular disorders and rare neurological diseases. His significant roles include an 8-year tenure as director of immunohistochemistry and special stains at the MUHC, and program director for the McGill Anatomic Pathology residency program (2015-2020). He has published over 80 journal articles in peer-reviewed publications and five book chapters focused on neuropathology. He has been a member of the Royal College specialty committee for diagnostic and molecular pathology since 2015, and has been a member of the board of directors for the Canadian Association of Pathology since 2015.
