With a distinguished career that includes serving as Head and Chair of Pathology at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa, and as Director of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Vermont, USA, Dr. Cooper brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.
He earned his PhD from Oxford University, focusing on the role of HPV in uterine cervical carcinomas. Dr. Cooper is renowned for initiating the Botswana Rotation/Elective through the Botswana-UPenn Partnership in October 2016, dedicating his time to teaching and case work at the University of Botswana.
His clinical experience spans from routine post-mortem and surgical pathology to specialized techniques like Electron Microscopy, Immunofluorescence, Frozen Sections, and Immunohistochemistry. Currently, his work primarily involves routine general surgical pathology sign-out. With over 290 published manuscripts and more than 100 published abstracts, Dr. Cooper’s expertise, particularly in Head and Neck and Soft Tissue pathology, is unparalleled.

Dr. Cooper is the Professor of Anatomic Pathology Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Perlman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Philadelphia, PA, USA.
He previously was Head and Chair of Pathology at the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and Director of Anatomic Pathology at the University of Vermont, USA.
